North East & Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

Creative documentary wedding stories from the heart.

I'm a North East documentary wedding photographer based in North Yorkshire and offering creative storytelling wedding photography around Newcastle, Yorkshire, Scotland and anywhere else within the UK. I offer a natural and documentary or otherwise known as reportage style of wedding photography. If having your photograph taken sends a shiver down your spine, then fear not, my style is fun, lighthearted and extremely unobtrusive. Think of me as the quiet guest with a camera!

I've been photographing weddings for over 10 years and in this time I've worked best with those who want great photographs without the fuss or feeling like they've been on a photoshoot. I've photographed couples from all corners of the globe, some are now lifelong friends. If you think I might be what you're looking for, then feel free to send me a message with a few details about your day.

MICRO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Micro weddings are a real thing and have grown in popularity since the sudden and unfortunate arrival of Covid 19. I offer shorter photography coverage to loving couples that simply can't wait to be married, and are happy to rearrange the after party to a time that guidelines allow.

Minimum 2 hours coverage anywhere within an hours drive from my location. A small fee for fuel may be added for weddings slightly further afield. Enquire below to check dates and availability.

"Phil, it was a pleasure to have you there on our special day! You were friendly, accommodating and approachable – Faye and I felt nothing but comfort from your work. Both ourselves and the guests believe your perfect balance between professionalism and your light-hearted personality made you a credit to your trade. We wish you all the best in your future!"

"I FIRST MET PHIL WHEN MY BEST FRIEND GOT MARRIED IN 2012. i REMEMBER MEETING PHIL WHEN HE FIRST ARRIVED AT HER PARENTS' HOUSE AND THEN REALISED I WASN'T AWARE OF HIM THE REST OF THE DAY. WHEN I SAW HER PHOTOS I REMEMBER THINKING HOW PERFECTLY PHIL HAD CAPTURED THE BEAUTY AND HAPPINESS OF THE DAY WITHOUT BEING OBTRUSIVE AT ALL. WHEN ALLY AND I STARTED PLANNING OUR WEDDING PHIL WAS FIRST ON OUR LIST OF PEOPLE TO CALL."
