As You Like It Wedding | Lyndsey & Michael
A wonderful As You Like It wedding with Lyndsey and Michael photographed by Newcastle wedding photographer Phil Nunez.
This was my very first As You Like It wedding! The venue is about 6 miles from my doorstep and a nice change to be shooting somewhere so local to me. As you Like It, according to their website is cool, quirky and one of a kind and it certainly didn't disappoint. With lots of alternative decor and what I can only describe as "interesting lighting" it's definitely a challenge to photograph, but I think it's fair to say their wedding was an amazing day from start to finish, and not without its minor hiccups!
I already knew Lyndsey and Michael from when I photographed her sister Alicia's Hotel du Vin wedding at the Quayside in Newcastle. So when they asked me to be their photographer I was pretty honoured to be asked. It's always nice to share in another day with their family and close friends.
So, about their day.. Well I have to mention the Louboutins and for those like me who had never heard of them, they're fancy shoes apparently, that cost a small fortune! So naturally, they featured in a few of their wedding photos! Check out the Pontiac, an all American classic car, an absolute beaut of a car which again, I managed a few frames before it unfortunately broke down whilst waiting for Lyndsey (I managed a frame with the drivers head under the bonnet trying to fix it too!)
I felt for the driver, it was his pride and joy and I could see the disappointment on his face. However, being a wedding photographer who drives a white car who generally keeps it clean and tidy, I came up with a cunning plan.
I could have hugged Lyndsey when we broke the news about her wedding car breaking down, she took it on the chin and it didn't phase her one bit. So with the previously mentioned cunning plan, yours truly Mr wedding photographer swapped hats for Mr wedding chauffeur, and whisked the bridesmaids and her mum off to the venue, quickly returning to collect Lyndsey and her Dad. #allinadayswork#noordinaryweddingphotographer So, on with the story. I loved every minute of it, just a truly fab day in the office for me, and it went a little bit like this..

Woodhill Hall Wedding Photography - Jojo & Chris
Jojo and Chris’s Woodhill Hall Wedding Photography will definitely make you smile, and most probably have you belly laughing!
Jojo and Chris’s Woodhill Hall Wedding Photography will definitely make you smile, and most probably have you belly laughing! I first met these two amazing humans for their pre wedding photoshoot in Bamburgh. We chatted about their plans, before heading off to shoot a few frames around the village and on the beach. Like many of my couples, the day was more about their friends and family rather than just them. The brief was music to my ears. I was told "do what you do" and capture the day as it happens. Jojo & Chris wanted a few family photographs, and a nice shot of the two of them.
The best wedding venue in Northumberland?
Since this was my first wedding at Woodhill Hall, I arrived slightly earlier than planned to do my own little recce. It's a very beautiful setting, and a very peaceful one. The beauty of Woodhill Hall is it's exclusive, meaning it's all yours! It's certainly one of the contenders for best wedding venue in Northumberland. As it happened the lads were mooching about putting the final touches on a few of the wedding details. Turns out that Jojo liked lobsters. As a result, you'll notice a fair few of them dotted around in her wedding photographs!
Woodhill Hall wedding photography with Jojo and Chris
As far as weddings go, this Woodhill Hall wedding was just awesome. I love it when two people in love decide to get married and just do it their way, because that's what they did. Writing their blog post makes me seriously happy. Flashbacks of Jojo's infectious smile and boundless energy for dancing and Chris with his hip flask. I lost count of the amount of times he asked me to have a drink!
The later it got into the day the more the gin made him giggle like a cheeky school boy. At one point I was asked to stand next to a friend of theirs. It turns out they thought we were twins. As a result, I managed to be featured in the wedding story below! I think it's fair to say this little Woodhill Hall wedding photography adventure was a success.
I want to give a little shout out to Jojo right about now. Jojo's a very creative lady. She wears a lot of neon, loves mushy peas, and still calls her dinner tea. This is all according to her website. You can check it out here at Lovely Jojos to find out more..
Let's get to their wedding photography. There's a some seriously epic photographs here, so grab a coffee, some biscuits, kick off your slippers, turn the soaps off and enjoy a really amazing wedding story. If you think you'd like to hire me for your own wedding, then feel free to get in touch.
If you enjoy these images then why not check out how beautiful a winter wedding at Woodhill Hall is too? I give you Jojo & Chris..
Whitworth Hall Wedding Photography | Rachel & Rick Part 2
So here we have it.. Rachel & Rick Part 2 - Whitworth Hall Wedding Photography. Before we kick off, you might want to go to Part 1 first!
So here we have it.. Rachel & Rick Part 2 - Whitworth Hall Wedding Photography. Before we kick off, you might want to go to Part 1 first if you haven't been there already. Let me set the scene for you. Rachel & Rick just got married at Durham Cathedral, they've sped off at high speed in a VW Campervan and I've jumped aboard the guest coach to make my way back to Whitworth Hall to catch up with the rest of the day..The sun is shining, the guests are getting thirsty and within no time we're back at Whitworth Hall. Drinks and canopes on the lawn go down a treat especially since we've got lucky with the weather. As per most weddings, I get through half a dozen formal photographs in pretty quick time and a couple of quirky portraits at the bride's request. Check out Rachel & Rick looking like gangsters a bit further down the page..Everyone heads inside for the meal and come speeches time the guests (and me!) were in for a right treat. Unknown to me, turns out Rachel is a stand up comedian. Up she trots and delivered the most amazing speech/sketch/song basically a good half hour of pure entertainment and a pretty tough act to follow, it was awesome! The guests were singing, the bridal party played their part, out popped a few "Rick" masks and the place pretty much went crazy for a short while. All good..Enough of me rambling..I give you Whitworth Hall Wedding Photography | Rachel & Rick Part 2.. Oh and yes, right there at the end of the night the band were all guests and friends of Rachel & Rick who also gig together. And guess who the lead singer is...Enjoy
Durham Cathedral Wedding Photography | Rachel & Rick
Durham Cathedral wedding photography doesn't come about very often so when Rachel & Rick got in touch it was such an honour to capture their special day.
Durham Cathedral wedding photography doesn't come about very often so when Rachel & Rick got in touch it was such an honour to capture their special day.
After confirming my availability in an email and discussing a few details the date was firmly stamped in my diary. More often than not these days the first opportunity I get to meet the couple is at their eshoot. So wisely, Rachel opted for Durham city to meet, drink coffee and talk over the finer details of their wedding.
I have to admit to being pretty nervous prior to meeting them. Not everyone is granted the rights to be married at Durham Cathedral, and so me being me, I had to ask her the question how their wedding came about taking place at Durham Cathedral. "I'm a Princess" was her reply. My jaw dropped, almost hitting the table. She quickly realised that she'd got me hook, line and sinker so quickly went on to explain. Turns out her mum is a reverend in the local community and with that came the opportunity for Rachel to be married there.
A little history on Durham Cathedral
Located in the city of Durham, England, Durham Cathedral is a magnificent example of Norman architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cathedral was founded in 1093 by William of St. Calais, the Bishop of Durham, following the canonization of St. Cuthbert.
Construction of the cathedral took place over several decades, with the final touches completed in the early 12th century. The cathedral's design is characterized by its massive pillars, rounded arches, and ribbed vaults, which are typical of Norman Romanesque architecture. One of the most notable features of Durham Cathedral is its stunning facade, adorned with intricate stone carvings depicting biblical scenes and figures. The cathedral also houses the shrine of St. Cuthbert, a revered 7th-century saint, which has made Durham a significant pilgrimage site throughout the centuries.
Over the years, Durham Cathedral has faced various challenges, including fires, attacks, and periods of neglect. However, thanks to numerous restoration efforts, the cathedral retains much of its original grandeur and continues to be a place of worship, pilgrimage, and cultural significance. Today, Durham Cathedral stands as a testament to the skill and vision of its medieval builders and remains a symbol of faith and heritage for the people of Durham and visitors from around the world.
Wedding Photography at Durham Cathedral
On the morning of the wedding I met Rachel at Whitworth Hall Country Park Hotel to photograph her bridal preparations with her family. From there we made the journey to Durham in an old retro VW camper van which would drop us behind the Cathedral and away from the busy main entrance. I was lucky enough to be up front with the driver to document the journey!
Since the Cathedral is open to the public the wedding remained a fairly low key affair. We arrived at the rear entrance and walked through The Cloister, a beautiful structure in it’s own right. It wasn’t until we walked through into the main Cathedral itself that the general public were alerted to the fact a wedding was about to take place. Sadly due to the very strict protocols surrounding photography I was unable to get too close to the ceremony itself so I photographed what I could from a distance. The reverend conducting the service was extremely helpful and allowed me to photograph the register signing followed by 5 minutes or so of portraits with Rachel & Rick. Once the ceremony was complete it was back to Whitworth Hall for their reception. The whole day was so enjoyable and especially so as it was topped off with some lovely speeches, some stand up comedy and a few songs from Rachel throughout the evening which was a lovely surprise for Rick.

Brinkburn Priory Wedding Photography | Elizabeth & Andy
Brinkburn Priory Wedding Photography with Elizabeth & Andy by Northumberland wedding photographer Phil Nunez.
Brinkburn Priory Wedding Photography
Check out Elizabeth & Andy's Brinkburn Priory Wedding Photography by North East wedding photographer Phil Nunez.I'd never photographed a wedding at Brinkburn Priory so I was really happy at the prospect of working there. As it happened, Elizabeth & Andy are two of the most gorgeous humans I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. My very first meeting with Elizabeth and Andy was at their eshoot and wedding planning meeting. We decided that it would be good to meet at Brinkburn Priory a few months prior to their wedding. Talking to her over the phone I knew Elizabeth was going to be a bubbly character, and she was. I clicked with her and Andy immediately. They were both so funny, laid back and easy going. What really struck a chord with me was how into each other they were. It was obvious they were madly in love and I was looking forward to their wedding day even more..
The best wedding venue in Northumberland?
On the day of the wedding I found myself taking more photographs than usual. There's just so much to photograph at Brinkburn Priory, it's a real hidden gem of a Northumberland wedding venue. Located in the Coquet Valley in the heart of Northumberland, it comes with a Priory, an old manor house, luxurious open plan accommodation and it's own Tipi.I have to give a special mention at this point the staff at Brinkburn Priory. A beautiful venue is only as good as the staff who operate within it and I was blown away at how friendly, helpful and attentive they were towards not only the wedding party, but also to me. I don't say this lightly when I say that Brinkburn is quite possible the best wedding venue in Northumberland. The wedding was up there with one of the most beautiful of wedding days. Elizabeth looking absolutely stunning, I don't have words in my vocabulary to describe how much so. Andy was a hoot from the start with his awesome display of robotics before I'd even shook his hand. During the speeches I have to admit to shedding a few tears. Luckily for me I was able to hide them by covering my face with my camera. Elizabeth's Dad spoke such loving words of his daughter and her adventures growing up and being a father of two beautiful daughters myself he tugged at my heart strings with his words on a number of occasions.I make no apologies for the number of images I have selected to write this blog post about Elizabeth & Andy and their Brinkburn Priory wedding photography.Beautiful stories simply need telling..

Looking for a Brinkburn Priory wedding photographer?
Here you can see Elizabeth and Andy's eshoot and Brinkburn Priory wedding photographs. Brinkburn Priory was a medieval monastery built next to the River Coquet, almost at the tip of a hairpin bend in the river so practically surrounded in water from three sides. I've driven past the English Heritage sign on numerous occasions but never actually ventured down the track to the site itself. From a car park you basically walk approx 400 metres down to the Priory itself through the most delightful woodland. The day of the shoot was gorgeous. There was a blue sky and puffy white clouds with no wind. We sat in the church and went over the timings for their wedding day. The church is stunning, huge stained glass windows with beautiful light streaming in from all angles, it was all rather exciting! We then set off within the grounds to capture some natural portraits by the ruins at the back of the church. After that we went inside the old manor house. Here we did some environmental portraits using nothing but window light and a little imagination. We're certainly not going to be stuck if it's a rainy day that's for sure.
I'm rather blessed to be a Northumberland wedding photographer..
Elizabeth & Andy are both in the medical profession. Andy's a Physio and Elizabeth's training to become a doctor. As a result, if I pass out with excitement on their wedding day or twist my ankle then I'm in good hands. I'm rather blessed to be a Northumberland wedding photographer. Here's a flavour of the eshoot. The one bit of advice I give to all my clients at the eshoot is to forget I'm there and lose yourselves in that moment. If you can do that I promise you'll get beautiful and natural images. UPDATE! Feel free to browse their eshoot photographs first then follow the link to see their ACTUAL Brinkburn Priory wedding photography. Elizabeth & Andy didn't disappoint..
Newton Hall Weddings | Gemma & Ivan
Newton Hall Weddings are some of the most enjoyable days I've had in my wedding photography career. Gemma & Ivan's day was one of them.
Newton Hall Weddings are up there with some of my favourite experiences!! They never let me down, ever. It's simply the coolest of venues and it's bold romantic & fantastical! There's a certain type of client that books Newton Hall Weddings and I'm lucky to get to connect with them.Meet Skip & Ginger..They booked me online, like a lot of my clients these days they're from out of town, about a stones throw from Stansted Airport to be precise. We first met for their pre wedding shoot in Jesmond Dene earlier this year. You can checkout their Jesmond Dene Pre Wedding Photography by clicking on that link. After chatting about their wedding day in my regular Cafe Bar One it was love at first sight, an awesome couple.
"I'm sure it's the same weather at all of my Newton Hall Weddings.."
...The wedding started off on a very cool and slightly overcast day with a helping of sea mist for good measure. I'm sure it's the same weather at all of my Newton Hall Weddings as this wasn't the first time for me that I've started a wedding off here in exactly these conditions. Sure enough though as the day went on the cloud broke and the sun shone. We'd planned on a trip to the beach and the only thing that was looking to stop that plan was the wind but after about 2 seconds of debate it was game on. I'm so glad they went ahead with it, I think it was worth it!Their wedding day was monumental. Literally every guest had flown, driven or caught the train up from down south and they were the most amazing and epic compendium of personalities. I can't thank them all enough for their warm and welcoming ways, it makes the job (if you can call what I do a job) so much more enjoyable.I'll warn you now, this isn't the shortest of Newton Hall Weddings. This story is 175 images long, so get the kettle on, make yourself a brew then sit back and enjoy... Still hungry for more then check out an outdoor wedding at Newton Hall or if you've got time to hang around, try more Newton Hall wedding photos.
Linden Hall Wedding Photography | Kathryn & John
Kathryn and John asked me to shoot their Linden Hall Wedding Photography after a brief meeting last year to discuss their plans.
Linden Hall Wedding Photography with Kathryn & John..
...Kathryn and John asked me to shoot their Linden Hall Wedding Photography after a brief meeting last year to discuss their plans. It's amazing that some of my clients hire me up to 2 years in advance yet the pre wedding planning meeting seems to come around so quick! Kathryn was keen to have their pre wedding photography by the pier and beach at South Shields. It was February at the time so the weather was always going to be against us be it wind, cold or rain. I guess we were lucky in that it was only wind and cold but fair play they were happy to walk, talk and have their photographs made in pretty naff conditions.
As a wedding Photographer in Northumberland..
As a wedding photographer in Northumberland this was actually the first time I've been hired for Linden Hall Wedding Photography. I always mention time and time again though, I love shooting new venues. Nestled in the heart of Northumberland immediately off the A697 and just a stone's throw from Newcastle. The venue is one of the hotels in the prestigious Macdonald chain, so all in all not too shabby a venue. I think there's always one or two clients upon hearing that I've never photographed at their venue before, get a little nervous. You ask a hundred full time North East wedding photographers if they'd be happy to shoot a new venue and the answer will be 100% YES!!Taking the venue to one side, the single most important ingredient of any wedding celebration has to be the people. Let's face it without the people we don't have a wedding! So, for me the day is about capturing the essence of the personalities in attendance. Unposed, unplanned, tears, laughter, joy, sadness and real spontaneous moments for documentary wedding photography. The venue, at least in my view comes a very distant second.Kathryn and John are warm, friendly, fun, totally in love. Kathryn has an infectious giggle, John can talk for Great Britain (the speeches lasted over an hour and a half.. John mainly!) I think the Manager was panicking at one point since the wedding breakfast had been due to start an hour before the speeches ended. The stories were entertaining though and I couldn't help but giggle out loud myself on more than one occasion. Here's a few images I captured of their very special day..Get in touch to enquire about your very own Linden Hall wedding photography HERE.
Jesmond Dene Pre Wedding | Karen & Phil
Jesmond Dene Pre Wedding Photography with Karen & Phil...
...I met Karen and Phil at Cafe Bar One to finalise their wedding day plans before heading off to take some Jesmond Dene Pre Wedding photos. The weather was dry, the sky overcast but with the occasional burst of sunlight which is always a bonus in early March.Karen & Phil are getting married soon at the magical Newton Hall which is just a stones throw away from the majestic Northumberland coast. It's one of those wedding venues that really says a lot about the couple. Newton Hall describe it on their website as quirky & groovy, a fantasy destination and one that is most talked about throughout the UK right now. I've photographed several weddings there and to be honest, the place is a joy to photograph. Just add one loved up couple, then add friends and family, then party! As we headed off to shoot some portraits I discovered that Karen & Phil run through the Dene. Previously I've had couples tell me they got engaged on the bridge, by the waterfall or old mill but no, they went on to explain the hills surrounding the Dene are great for training. Having just signed up to a ridiculous fitness challenge myself this year I listened to their running tales with great interest. Here's a few images from our short time together..
Lennoxlove House Wedding Photography | Clare & Chris
Beautiful Lennoxlove House Wedding Photography with Clare & Chris..
This blog, Lennoxlove House wedding photography with Clare & Chris took me to an area of Scotland very close to my heart. Having lived and worked in East Lothian some 15 years previous, it was lovely to be back in the area. Lennoxlove House, a fine Scottish wedding venue. It's owned by the Duke of Hamilton and it's steeped in history. Set within the heart of this region, it's only a stone's throw away from Edinburgh.Clare & Chris had got in touch through a recommendation from a couple whose wedding I'd photographed previous to theirs. I first met them in a coffee house in Bamburgh, on the Northumberland coast. We discussed their wedding arrangements over a cup of tea then headed off for some photographs on Bamburgh beach. I'll get those images on the blog soon..On the morning of their big day, I'd never felt so relaxed prior to shooting someone's wedding. I'd stayed close by near a village called Gifford. Basically, I woke up to birds singing and bright sunshine in the middle of East Lothian's countryside, it was truly bliss. When I arrived to document their Lennoxlove House Wedding Photography I had a quick walk around the grounds to capture a few images. I bumped into Clare's parents who'd decided to do the same since it was such a lovely morning. We chatted some then off I dashed to catch the girls getting ready. Clare & Chris are just lovely people to know. I've met them since at her friend's wedding who I also photographed, and I'll be meeting them again this summer at another wedding I'm covering. Winding back a little to the Bamburgh beach pre wedding photography, Chris had mentioned a photo bombing frog. We laughed about it, and pretty much confirmed he had a cheeky chappy edge to him. I'd all but forgotten about the frog, that is, until their wedding day..EDIT: Lennoxlove House is no longer a wedding venue. Are looking for someone to photograph your own wedding. If so, I'm pleased to report that I am still a wedding photographer. You can check my availability by getting in touch here.
Pre Wedding Photography Jesmond Dene | Maria & Michael
Yesterday I met Maria & Michael to shoot some pre wedding photography Jesmond Dene. Before that we met for hot drinks and went over the plans for their Wallsend Hall wedding, an up and coming Newcastle wedding venue that is fast making a name for itself as a sought after venue in the heart of Newcastle.A little shout out to Cafe Bar One in Jesmond, who's fast becoming a favourite meeting place. From there, we headed out into Jesmond Dene. The weather was cold but the sun was happy to show it's face enough to give us some different options. We slowly worked our way around a short walk, stopping along the way. It turns out Maria works in the hospital where my youngest daughter was delivered, small world! I happened to mention Mountain Biking in a conversation and so it was Michael's turn since he used to ride at all the same spots as I do. The shoot itself was little under an hour and we were back to the cars. It really is difficult to call that work, but there you have it.I got an email from a chap recently who saw some pre wedding photography on my website and wondered if I'd do this for him and his wife. Although I specialise in weddings, I would invite anyone that is thinking of this type of shoot to get in touch, even if you're married already. You can call me direct on 07825 367431, or through my contact form on the website. Here's a few from their shoot.
Wynyard Hall Wedding Photography | Chelsea & Robert
Wynyard Hall Wedding Photography with Chelsea & Robert..
Wynyard Hall Wedding Photography with Chelsea & Robert. The wedding venue itself is most prestigious and is set within beautifully landscaped parkland in the Tees Valley. The building and grounds themselves are steeped with history.I met Chelsea and Robert through a recommendation made by one of my past grooms who's wedding at Rushpool Hall I'd shot about 4 years ago. The day started off in Stockton where I caught up with the girls for the bridal preparations. Working in my usual way I was soon picking out some lovely moments. From Stockton it was a ten minute drive to Wynyard Hall. When I was driving through the grounds I felt nervous, the whole scale of the place took my breath away. I always assure myself that nerves are good. They're a sign that you genuinely care about you job, and that you want to do it well. Let's face it, the day I stop being nervous will be the day I'll look for another job. I digress!!Chelsea and Robert are a young, fun couple with a wicked sense of humour. I'd also met Chelsea's Dad before the wedding at the time when I first met Chelsea and Robert so I knew then by their personalities that they were going to celebrate in style. Best wishes guys, to a long, happy and healthy future together.

Newcastle Wedding Photographer | Documentary Wedding Photography
I'm a Newcastle Wedding photographer covering the North East, the rest of the UK and abroad. My style is documentary storytelling, preferring to capture the day as it happens and without any interruptions from me. I find working this way allows me to capture real moments, of a more spontaneous nature, which is the main reason my clients hire me. That aside, I still set time aside for couple portraits, where we spend 20 minutes or so in and around your chosen venue capturing some lovely natural moments with you and your partner.
Jesmond Dene Pre Wedding Photography | Gemma & Ivan
Meet Gemma & Ivan, who chose Jesmond Dene pre wedding photography. These guys drove up from Essex the night before for their shoot.
Meet Gemma & Ivan, who chose Jesmond Dene pre wedding photography. These guys drove up from Essex the night before to execute a military style operation involving wedding meetings, tasting sessions, make up and Jesmond Dene pre wedding photography. Having never met them it's always nice to hook up for the first time. We chose Cafe Bar One in Jesmond to meet for a cuppa first and summarize the wedding day plans. You get an idea of someone's personality just in the manner in which they email you, so when I met Gemma she was exactly how I expected. Very bright, bubbly and full of energy! We discussed the wedding day and headed out onto the Armstrong Bridge to do our shoot. Gemma explained to me how handsome Ivan looked in black and white photographs, and so Ivan and I spent the next few minutes discussing how we looked like German U Boat Captains, what with our weather beaten faces and rough beards. It's fair to say I liked them both from the off..The wedding itself takes place at Newton Hall in Northumberland, and I'm excited to be back there again. A stunning venue and judging by their fun and a bit quirky outlook on life, I know they're going to have a ball. Fingers crossed for the weather, Gemma has hinted on some beach wedding portraits too! Here's a few from their shoot, feel free to leave them a comment.
Documentary Wedding Photography Newcastle | Kay & Alex
Documentary wedding photography with Kay & Alex who chose Close House as their wedding venue. Read all about it here..
Close House near Newcastle was the setting for my last but by no means least documentary wedding photography adventure of 2013. It is this style of wedding photography which allows me to seek out spontaneous and completely unplanned moments without the need to interrupt or stop proceedings during the wedding day, and this day delivered in abundance.I met Kay & Alex at Jesmond Dene House to confirm the timings for their wedding day and do their pre wedding photo shoot shortly afterwards in the dene itself. Hats off to Alex, it's rare that the bloke takes such an active role in the planning of his own wedding but due to the nature of Kay's job it was Alex who took the lead. Kay is stunning, lovely dark skin, hair and eyes and I just knew, as shy as she was, that she'd look great in her pictures and she didn't disappoint! Due to distance, time and logistics, the pre wedding photo shoot is sometimes the first time I get to meet my clients, even though they may have booked my services some 18 months previous, so I always enjoy these bonding sessions, it helps everyone to relax and put their trust in me, and when that happens, that's when you get the best from people where the photography's concerned. The wedding day itself started for me with the lads, and a rare image of a man ironing! When I moved onto Close House although Autumn was coming to an end we were still blessed with some lovely golden browns and a rich blue sky. Not too shabby a day to get married. Kay looked stunning, even more so than during their pre wedding shoot. Love to both of you, I wish you both the best in life xxxPS. It was at Kay & Alex's wedding I took my favourite wedding image of last year. Alex, I loved your mating call to Kay, not 30 minutes after the ceremony. Yes, you know the moment, the one I captured that sits proudly on my virtual mantelpiece. Thank you brother.Onto the images, enjoy their little story..
Jesmond Dene House Wedding Photography | Vicki & Marc
The story of Jesmond Dene House Wedding Photography with Vicki & Marc started with a meeting with Vicki some time before their wedding.
The story of Jesmond Dene House Wedding Photography with Vicki & Marc started with a meeting with Vicki some time before their wedding. It's rare that I meet clients before they book me nowadays, but even more so, that I only meet one member of the couple. As it happens Marc is from Glasgow, and was working at the time so was unable to make it. I must have made a suitable impression I guess or I wouldn't be writing about their wedding story! The first time I met with Marc was at their Pre Wedding Photo Shoot in Jesmond Dene, a sound bloke I could see how well they worked together. Kudos to both of them for what was at the time a "long distance relationship."The wedding day started at Vicki's Mum's house for bridal preparations where the amazingly talented girls from ND Makeup Artists were working their magic, not that it must have taken much as Vicki as you'll gather from her photos is already pretty stunning. From there we headed to the church in Cramlington where Marc's father who's a serving pastor over in the US, conducted part of their ceremony. Due to the rules set by the vicar of that particular church, I wasn't given permission to photograph their ceremony which was a shame. From the church we made the short journey into Newcastle and to Jesmond Dene House. I enjoy Jesmond Dene House wedding photography very much. It's a stunning wedding venue, and the staff and overall atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. From a photographer's perspective Jesmond Dene House is a joy to photograph. Especially so when you family and friends such as Vicki and Marc's.

Matfen Hall Wedding Photography | Jo & Chris
For couples looking for Matfen Hall wedding photography then Jo and Chris's wedding may be worth checking out?
Jo & Chris's Matfen Hall wedding photography is a nice source of inspiration for couples planning a wedding here. Matfen Hall is located west of Newcastle and easily found just a few miles off the A69 near Corbridge. I've been lucky enough to photograph many weddings at Matfen Hall and it's a venue I look forward to working at. Having had the lovely experience of being a guest here I can personally recommend it. There's good reason for most to want to stay here. Be it fine dining, country walks, golfing or simply a weekend of luxury health & beauty, Matfen Hall has you covered. At just a stone's throw from the hotel, you can also choose to swing through trees at Go Ape if you're feeling brave!
Matfen Hall Wedding Photography
Walking into the Great hall for the first time will take your breath away. You're literally walking into a fairytale medieval ceremony room with it's huge sweeping staircase and wonderfully painted ceilings. Coats of Arms drape the walls and beautiful natural light pours in from the huge window. Once you've managed to take in the marvel of the interior, the exterior grounds are equally impressive. For Matfen Hall wedding photographers, this place really is a dream to work at. I'd photographed Jo's friend's wedding a few years previous. Being recommended by a former client is the greatest accolade a wedding photographer can receive. There's always the added pressure to perform but anything that motivates you to do better can only be a good thing. Jo & Chris, and their friends and family welcomed me with open arms. As a result, it allowed me to get closer to the action without stepping on toes or annoying people.Golfing fans are going to love their wedding photos! Seeing the wedding party pour onto the putting green for a golf lesson was a first for me at a wedding! It certainly made for some interesting photographs. With the exception of a few family formal photographs and details, this wedding was photographed in my documentary style.

Durham Castle wedding photos with Melissa & Gavin..
Melissa & Gavin’s Durham Castle wedding photography came with blue skies and sunshine on this gorgeous summer day. After meeting them to discuss their plans I was thrilled when they hired me. We opted for Blyth Beach in Northumberland for their wedding planning meeting and pre wedding photo shoot. It was a few months before their wedding and I remember we had a great shoot on the beach. We also utilised Blyth beach huts which have become a bit of an attraction in their own right.
Melissa and Gavin live in London and originate from the North East. Their ceremony took place in Whickham, followed by the wedding breakfast and reception at the castle. I remember the day very well as it was scorching hot and not a cloud in the sky. I remember drinking my bodyweight in water just to stay hydrated. It's tough enough carrying your equipment around for 10 hours but in 25 degrees summer heat it was a challenge to say the least.
Luckily after years of carrying everything but the kitchen sink on my back, I'm down to 2 cameras, and a few lenses. Now, running around all day ensuring I capture the best wedding photos at Durham Castle that I can, is far easier now that I’m lighter on my feet.
A brief history of Durham Castle
Durham Castle is a historic Norman castle situated in Durham, England. It dates back to the 11th century and was originally built as a fortress to protect the city and the surrounding area from invasion. Later on, it became a residence for the Bishop of Durham. Its stunning architecture and rich history make it a unique and very special venue for couples to exchange their vows. Getting married at Durham Castle is a majestic experience, with the ancient stone walls and grand interiors providing a sense of elegance and timelessness to the occasion. Couples who are fortunate enough to get married here are surrounded by centuries of history, adding a special and romantic atmosphere to their big day.
The day began at Melissa’s parent’s house where they got ready. We then headed to the church for their ceremony, and then to Durham Castle where they spent the rest of the day. Being so central in the city we took the opportunity to go for a little walk during the day which was lovely. Melissa & Gavin’s day was such a lovely occasion and I found them to be a joy to capture. It’s certainly a blessing to meet such nice people, and also their friends and families and share the day with them. Enough of me rambling, and onto their wedding photos.

St Chads Durham Wedding Photography | Sally & Alistair
An exceptional wedding venue, St Chads Durham Wedding Photography with Sally & Alistair gives a great insight into a wedding here.
An exceptional wedding venue, Sally & Alistair’s St Chads Durham Wedding Photography gives a great insight into a wedding here. Army Captain Alistair ensured this elegant wedding had a military twist to it. There's nothing quite like a Guard of Honour awaiting you immediately after a wedding ceremony. The day started with Sally and her bridesmaids in a lovely apartment where the girls had their hair and makeup applied. The ceremony and reception all took place at St Chads in Durham, a personal favourite of mine. I've photographed several weddings here now and I have such fond memories from them all. The staff are really friendly and approachable. As a result, they're always on hand to make your wedding day go seamlessly and there's a lovely atmosphere to this venue. You can see from the following photographs that my style of wedding photography is documentary. Essentially, this means very little posing or direction from me. I personally feel that this type of photography truly makes your wedding photos sing. There's so much more personality and emotion to be seen in an image where the subjects were unaware of their photograph having been taken.

Newton Hall Wedding Photography | Lindsay & Tom
Newton Hall wedding photography with Lindsay and Tom photographed by North East wedding photographer Phil Nunez.
Couples looking for Newton Hall wedding photography of their own might want to check out Lindsay & Toms amazing photos. I've lost count of the number of weddings I've had the pleasure of photographing at this amazing venue. What I do know is that each and everyone has been a blast.Lindsay and Tom's wedding day was one of those. We'd met up previously and did a little pre wedding couple shoot on the beach nearby. From the initial meeting and then the couple shoot, I fell in love with this couple quite easily. Down to earth, bubbly and a little cheeky were the words I would use to describe them. Lindsay was most definitely the cheeky one, and her little one liners had me creased.
Natural and candid Newton Hall wedding photos
As fun and outgoing as they were, they were still a little shy in front of camera. Like most of my couples, they opted for more of a natural and candid approach rather than set up and posed photographs. As a documentary wedding photographer I was only too happy to oblige. Lindsay and the rest of her bridal party opted for the Pinarello Suite to get ready in. It's a lovely suite located immediately behind the main hall and only a short walk to an indoor or outdoor ceremony.Newton Hall, described on its own website as Bold, romantic and fantastical, is exactly that. It's a short drive off the main A1 road and is located a stones throw away from the majestic Northumberland Coast. Offering a number of options for a wedding ceremony, both indoor and outdoor, couples are literally spoilt for choice. Lindsay's ceremony was an indoor one as you'll see from her images. Here's an example of an outdoor wedding Newton Hall. Without further delay, let's move onto Lindsay and Tom's wedding photos. I smile every time I look through their gallery as I can't see an image whee they're not smiling. If you're a couple planning your own wedding and are hoping to get Newton Hall wedding photography similar to the style you're about to see, then feel free to get in touch.
